Tarul Kode Tripathi
Founder

Tarul Kode Tripathi grew up in the greater Seattle area, as the eldest of 3 siblings. She and her family are survivors of domestic violence and long-standing friends of grassroots non-profit API Chaya; Tarul is currently Board Chair, and the organization recently celebrated 25 of years of service. As a pharmacist and Director of Account Management with over 15 years of experience, she is passionate about equity and transformational leadership. The Sanaya Set was named after Tarul’s daughter. Sanaya means distinguished- different in a great way, as she explains it. In founding the Sanaya Set, Tarul is pursuing her passions for advocacy, social justice, and intersectionality- for herself, her kids, and our community. Fun fact- she was awarded ‘trend setter’ her senior year in high school. She loves fashion, especially with responsibly sourced. In her down time (10 minutes a day if she’s lucky), she reads and watches international dramas.

Tejal Angolkar
Founder

Tejal Angolkar is the millennial of our team. She graduated from Claremont McKenna College with a BA in Economics in 2016. As a business consultant, Tejal recently moved from New York City back home, to Seattle. Born and raised in in the greater Seattle Area, Tejal has always had a passion for doing good for her community. She grew up helping young Indian-Americans bridge the gap between their cultures as a youth counselor for the Indian Association of Western Washington. In high school, she worked with organizations such as Circle of Women and Girl Up to provide access to education for girls in countries like India and Malawi. In college, Tejal worked with API Chaya on community organizing and research as an outreach coordinator - currently, she is an integral part of the volunteer group that organizes community fund raising effort. Tejal currently sits on the first young professionals chapter for Acumen, an organization that tackles poverty through impact investing. After a day of promoting social justice, Tejal likes to wind down by putting on one of her many festive onesies and binge watching Bollywood movies.
