Fighting Human Trafficking Together
January 11th is National Human Trafficking Awareness Day. Today is dedicated to raising awareness of sexual slavery and human trafficking worldwide.
At the Sanaya Set, we are committed to raising awareness of and fighting human trafficking wherever it exists.
We do so by supporting organizations like API Chaya. API Chaya engages communities to change societal conditions that enable human trafficking, domestic and sexual violence, and all forms of oppression, especially violence against womxn and the most vulnerable in our society. Please join us at our API Chaya Annual Gala to fund the journey for our community of brave survivors (details below).
We also collaborate with organizations like Sudara. Each year, millions of womxn and children are trafficked into sexual exploitation in India. Sudara is working to change this by providing hope and opportunity through living-wage jobs, skills training, and education. Take a sneak peek into the Sanaya Set Spring 2018 below- the gorgeous Anju robe is made in India by women working to remain free from slavery.
Additionally, 10% of net proceeds from our Hope Collection will go to the ACLU. Please learn more about the ACLU and human trafficking here.
It is a myth that the United States abolished slavery over 150 years ago. We know that slavery still exists across the globe and here, close to home- facts matter.
With your support, the Sanaya Set team is committed to changing these facts ourselves.
Love,
Tarul, Sanaya, & Tejal
